Our own Robert Haught is at the event and will be providing us with live updates throughout the night. One of the big stories tonight is the return of Dennis Anderson to the Metrodome since last December after an injury kept him sidelined till the World Finals in March. Tonight will also be first time Linsey Weenk in Blue Thunder will face his former boss’s and teammate’s Jimmy and Dawn Creten. The event will also see the debut of a new truck and a new racing course so stay with us as it’s sure to be an action packed night in Minneapolis!

UPDATE 1: Qualifying has now ended in Minneapolis. Tom Meents and Maximum Destruction layed down the fastest time to take the top spot in qualifying. Heavy hitters Dennis Anderson and Linsey Weenk both hit turning poles in their qualifying runs which could prove to make the racing brackets quite interesting in the first round. More results to come soon!

UPDATE 2: The first round is in the books and it’s shaping up to be a wild one tonight. Jimmy Creten and Bounty Hunter took out number one qualifier Tom Meents. Meents took out two turning posts but it didn’t matter as Creten beat him straight up. Frank Krmel and the all new Donkey Kong truck is off to a solid start picking up a first round win along with Blue Thunder and Linsey Weenk. Dennis Anderson also collected a first round win but suffered a light roll over after the finish but the truck should be back in the second round. Stick around for results from the semi finals at the Metrodome!

UPDATE 3: The action continues to heat up in Minneapolis. In the semi finals it was Jimmy Creten and Linsey Weenk coming away with wins to pair them up for the finals. The two former teammates faced off and Weenk got the better of Creten taking the racing win in Minneapolis. Updates from freestyle are coming soon so stay with us!

Kentucky Speedway update

It was a wild night at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky as the Major League of Monster Trucks tour rolled in with one of the most memorable events of 2007. The drama started early as Mark Hall’s Raminator expeienced some mechanical grimlins causing him to qualify 16th. Hall fought back to take out David Smith in the first round and worked his way through the bracket to meet up with Daron Basl in the finals. The race was close on the gigantic Z-shaped course and Hall would narrowly defeat Basl’s Nitro Hornet in a come from behind photo finish win over the final jump.

VIDEO OF THE FINAL ROUND RACE!

Freestyle saw the Koehler brothers dominate early with both Jim and Steve (who was a fill in for Hot Tamale) flipping over to end their runs. In the end it would be Mike Hawkins taking the freestyle win with a high speed, high flying run. Thanks go out to Josh Rhodes for covering a great event in Kentucky.

Summer Heat Sweeps Through Hagerstown

Hagerstown Monster JamOnce again the famed Hagerstown Speeway played host to one of the more legendary stops on the Monster Jam Summer Heat tour and once again lived up to it’s reputation as one of the best summer shows in the country. AllMonster.com’s Dustin Hart was on hand to cover two of the three events in the weekend starting with Saturday night where Gary Wiggins and Mopar Magic took out Friday night’s racing winner and team mate Steve Sims and Stone Crusher for the win in the finals. Freestyle would see great runs from all the trucks but it would be Pablo Huffaker piloting Grave Digger who would steal the show and the freestyle win. The monsters returned Sunday afternoon for a barnburner of an event to close out the weekend. Chad Tingler brought the crowd to their feet when he rolled Blue Thunder over backwards during his wheelie contest attempt. The truck suffered only minor damage and was declared the winner of the wheelie contest. In racing it would be Alex Blackwell day as he took out Mopar Magic in the semi’s before flying the Monster Mutt to a finals win over Grave Digger. With it being the final show of the weekend everyone cut loose in freestyle with great runs coming from all the trucks. Gary Wiggins pushed Mopar Magic hard with several great wheelies including one nearly half the length of the straightaway. Stone Crusher also laid down an excellent run full of wheelstand and big air but Huffaker would once again reign freestyle king for the weekend with gigantic leaps off the car stacks and an awesome slap wheelie to take the win. All in all it was a great weekend and AllMonster would like to thank Christina Sims for providing tickets to the show, thanks again Christina!

Monsters on The Beach Recap

The 10th annual Monsters on the Beach took place this weekend on the oceanfront in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The event featured the likes of Randy Brown, Chad Tingler, Adam Anderson, Chad Fortune, Alex Blackwell, Frank Krmel and local favorites Ray Mowery and Steve Sims. With five events over the course of three days the beach saw plenty of great races and freestyles. It was a mixed bag of results in racing with Randy Brown racking up two wins along with Chad Tingler, Adam Anderson and Steve Sims picking up one win each. Freestyle saw many great highlights over the weekend with huge air from the likes of Anderson, Brown, Sims and Tingler along with great wheelies from Fortune, Krmel and Blackwell. AllMonster would like to thank the fine folks at Beach Events for providing media access to the event for the third year in a row.

Ocala Speedway Recap

Ocala Speedway played host to three days and four events of awesome monster truck action this weekend and our own Tim Groves was on hand to catch the action Sunday. The event kicked off with Gary Wiggins pulling off a wheelie contest win in the all new Mopar Magic. In racing Randy Brown would pilot Grave Digger to a win over Steve Sims and Stone Crusher. Brown would prove to be nearly unstoppable as he would go on to get a perfect 30 in the donut competition and would win the final freestyle of the weekend. We’d like to thank Tim Groves for the pictures and look for a full gallery to come later this week.

World Finals Results!

The World Finals in Las Vegas took place this past weekend at Sam Boyd Stadium crowning two new Monster Jam champions and our own Andrew Ellingwood was on hand to catch all the action. The racing competition saw exciting moments like Randy Brown’s first round rollover in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle to the early round upsets of Maximum Destruction and Bounty Hunter. In the end the finals came down to John Seasock behind the wheel of Batman and Dennis Anderson returning to the finals for the third straight year in Grave Digger with Seasock pulling off the win by over a truck length! Freestyle was full of carnage with hard rollovers from King Krunch, Monster Mutt, Avenger, Grave Digger and Pastrana 199 along with many mechanical failures causing disapointing scores for former freestyle champions Jimmy Creten and Tom Meents. Pablo Huffaker stole the show in freestyle with a great run earning a 34 to win the freestyle championship!
